This collection for Bazarapagne Summer is just stunning – or shall I say the photography of the collection is? Don’t get me wrong: The designs are nice! The ruffles on the back and the sleeves are beautiful and very much on trend. The fabrics are quite pretty, too, and a nice change to other African fashion collections that seem to use all the same popular prints. BUT the photography! I mean seriously, these images for Bazarapagne Summer look like art: the bare basic background paired with the colorful prints and the huge straw hat give the images a touch of art.
This straw hat reminds me of one we used to have hanging on our wall from Ghana, where you can sometimes see market women wear them to protect themselves from the sun. The hat also reminds me of the ones worn by farmers on rice fields in Japan or China.
Amour Zozo – is intended to be a collection at the crossroads of different continents, mixing inspirations from Asia, South Africa and Africa.
“Zozo” means warm in Mina, a language spoken in the North of Cameroon. The name of the collection is supposed to capture the fun and excitement everyone feels when Summer is approaching – a season that most of us love!
